Been a while, sorry - med school has me by the neck.
Really excited about this: Bishop, the artist I often talk about has only gone and wow'ed the judges at "Live and Unsigned" and made it through to the Live Shows.
The official press release is on his website, which I stated in my last post - I made. (girl of many talents). woop! www.BishopRadio.com
"One contestant who has caught the eye of the judges this year in the Live & Unsigned competition, is the confident & smooth-styled rapper, BISHOP. If successful at Dingwalls, he will progress towards the Grand Final at The O2 Arena."
Take a look, have a listen and if you're in the Camden/ London area on April 1st 2012- do come to the world famous Dingwalls! He'll be performing live as well as special famous guests!! Exciting times. Name drops? Coldplay, Adele, Madonna etc - have all played in Dingwalls. Booyah!!
Below is a video of a song from his upcoming mixtape! Exciting times.
Also the song you can hear on the site at the moment!!
Well - considering I have an exam tomorrow, perhaps not the best time to be blogging....oh well.
Rants:
1) I strongly dislike the new Facebook Timeline, and the fact it's becoming compulsory in a week - NOT COOL!! Luckily I have very little personal information on my facebook profile - but enough to make make melook effortlessly cool. *lols*
Plus, I think it's just provided another avenue (cover photo) for facebook users to waste more hours of their life obsessing over. To further facilitate the hours spent on facebook - they are introducing 60+ apps all to engage users. Now they're calling it "An Online scrapbook" - emm what happened to pen and paper, and scissors and glues and making a NORMAL scrap book?!
*sad times* Is this what modern day teenagers are growing up with?
Anyhoo seeing as we HAD to get timeline, I decided to just get it over with, and below in my coverphoto I made. *chuckles* It makes me laugh every time.
2) On Monday I ran 8km in 29mins 37secs - the fastest I've ever run. Pretty chuffed.
Completely exhausted after though :-(
3) Though I do need to get cycling. Didn't really appreciate how the accident late November affected me psychologically. I got on my bike for the first time on Saturday - terrified. But I made it. :-)
I'll be getting my indoor cycling trainer this month *fingers crossed* (or next month). Thanks to Trevor - really helped with the email you sent!! After much consideration, I'm definitely going to get the Elite Novomag Trainer. I need to put the miles in before the 300+ miles to Paris.
4) After 7 months without playing football, thought I'd play a game with the team. Full 90 minutes on muddy grass (without studded boots - bad idea). But it was such a good game. Really enjoyed it. Made me consider going back...but nah.
Plus I scored!!! and we won 2-1! #LovingLife.
I can't wait to get things settled and back to taking some pictures again. Been so swamped with things, never ending "to-do-lists", studying, hospital, exams. Etc. I'm definitely not achieving New Year Resolution Numbero 3 - "Take care of me! Do me! etc" I know it's a slightly selfish resolution, but I do need to learn to take of myself more, and please me more...we'll see.
Life as we know it: :-(
4) Never really celebrated Valentine's Day. Don't think it makes much sense to be honest. I'd rather spend 364 days showing how much I love someone, and I have one day called Non-Affection Day. lols.
Speaking of Love, these two songs are my February tunes. :-)
I've been quite down recently regarding the killings in Nigeria, especially on Christmas Day & the supposedly peaceful strikes & protests across the country due to the fuel crisis.
- [ great pictures of the strikes earlier this month can be seen HERE]
To think this is my origin, where I spent my early years, where my family is from; it hurts to see my people suffer. There's so much good in the country, but the bad is clouding our image.
The corruption within the government is stifling our growth.
The North and South divide is literally tearing the country apart. :-( :-(
I think this picture expresses my pain. (It's not as awesome as I wanted, still learning this photoshop business. May need to buy a manual or Photoshop for dummies.)
Everything seems meaningless.
Why are people so evil?! I don't get it.
I always believed there was good in everyone, but I'm seriously doubting it. It's like some people have hearts that's so riddled with evil, there's literally no room for good.
Spent a day with my Godchildren. Soo adorable. Last time I saw them, they were 4hours old (twins) and now they're 5months! It's amazing how fast they grow!
Interesting facts:
* Between 1 - 3 months, babies gain 1 - 1.5inches in length per month (average)
* Between 1 - 3months, they gain 30 grams a day!!
Amazing. Children are such a blessing! It was so hard to say goodbye at the end of the day.
Also, always wanted to try my hands at some children photography. They were the perfect models. I wish I had the time to a proper photoshoot.
